Supporting, Educating & Encouraging the Community

Installing the water pump

Bora is so excited as they dig the land for planting.

Sustainable Organic Community Farming Project

Our community organic farming project kicks off this month, with Bora and some villagers planting sugarcane.
We will be starting with sugarcane and then other crops such as Avocado, coconut and olive trees for long term income.
A majority of the crops planted in our first community farm project will be used as ingredients in our beautiful Sammaki Face and Body scrubs. All money raised will go back into Happy Hub and the community farming project to expand to other villages.
Next to be done is a fence to protect the crop, organic fertilizers and a lean too for the staff to rest in.
We are raising money to install another 10 water pumps in the same village, which will help them to all start farming their land.
We will be adding sponsorship for seeds shortly that will help to start the farmers off to a better life.

First crop

This is our first crop ready to be planted before the rain begins.
We are starting with around  2000 stalks, but as Bora learns more about farming the size will grow. We will be able to farm year round once the water pumps are installed.
our aim is to be organic and use only natural methods to prevent disease and pests.

Bare farming land

Cashew Apple & Nut

We are aiming to plant at least 50 cashew trees to produce cashew nuts. The cashew apple is so nice but unfortunately as soon as it is picked it starts fermenting so it will be used in our compost.
